WHAT WE DO
MISSION
Council for the Blind is a charitable organisation whose main aim is to provide services to the blind and visually impaired persons in Zimbabwe including the following:
Prevention of blindness / restoration of sight
Educating the blind and visually impaired.
Rehabilitating the blind and visually impaired.
Provision of visual devices.

VISION
A nation without avoidably blind or visually impaired people and in which those with unavoidable vision loss can achieve their full potential.

We have the following activities where significant contributions have been made by the organisation: Construction of Eye Units, procurement of eye surgical equipment and consumables and Human resources development

BACKGROUND
Council for the Blind has been a leading provider of eye services in Zimbabwe since 1955. Throughout this period, we have strove to compliment the Government of Zimbabwe, through its different ministries, efforts to prevent blindness, restore sight to thousands of Zimbabweans and improve the quality of life for many whose sight cannot be restored.

CURRENT PROJECTS

Your contribution in the following ways will be greatly appreciated:
Contribute towards a cataract kit. One cataract kit costing US$41 will see 5 cataract operations
Our target is 6 000 cataract operations per year
Donate a portable operating-microscope
Pay school fees for an orphaned blind child
Donate Talking calculators for use by blind students ;

Donate Perkins braillers, Braille paper, braillon etc
White canes for mobility by blind person ;
Donate fuel for outreach programmes
